Top Travel and Local Apps on Android in Italy: Q1 2025

In the first quarter of 2025, the top travel and local apps on the Android platform in Italy showed varied performance in terms of downloads and active user engagement, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Airbnb recorded a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, peaking at around 31.5K in early January. By the end of March, downloads dropped to approximately 18.2K. Despite this, weekly active users saw a rise, especially towards the end of the quarter, climbing from about 978K to over 1M.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel experienced a steady increase in downloads, reaching around 23.9K by the end of March. The app also maintained a high level of active user engagement, ending the quarter with over 2.2M weekly active users, up from 2.1M at the start.

Ryanair showed a consistent rise in weekly downloads, starting at 15.6K and growing to 22.4K by the end of the quarter. Active users also increased, with numbers rising from 921K to over 905K, indicating strong user retention.

Google Earth had a steady download rate, with a noticeable peak of 17.3K in early February. Active users showed an upward trend, reaching approximately 470K by the end of March, up from 387K at the beginning of the quarter.

Finally, Skyscanner Flights Hotels Cars experienced varied download numbers, with a notable increase to around 14.6K at the end of March. The app also saw an increase in active users, peaking at 432K mid-March before settling at 366K.
